Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Raas Hub is operated by Raas Entertainment ("Raas Hub", "we", "us"), which runs the Raas Hub mobile app and website for garba and Navratri events in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Name, email address, and your Google account name and photo if you sign in with Google. |
| Profile (optional) | Profile photo, phone number, date of birth, gender, suburb, postcode, garba level and interests. |
| Tickets | The name, email and phone number for each booking, the event, number of tickets, amount paid, booking fee and ticket code. |
| Community | Posts, photos, audio clips, comments, likes, "Going" RSVPs, and any location you choose to add to a post. |
| Games | Quiz and rhythm game scores, shown on leaderboards with your name. |
| Messages to us | Anything you send when you contact support or ask for your account to be deleted. |
| Communication choices | Whether you have opted in to Raas Hub news and offers, and when. |
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never seen or stored by Raas Hub. If you save a card for faster checkout, Stripe stores it; we only see the card brand, last four digits and expiry date.
Camera and microphone
- Camera: used only when you take a photo for your profile or a post, or when an event organiser scans tickets at the door.
- Microphone: used only during Taali rhythm lessons to detect your claps in real time. The sound is analysed on your phone and is never recorded, saved or sent to us.
Information collected automatically
We keep the technical information needed to keep you signed in securely (a sign-in token stored on your device, or in your browser's storage when you sign in on our website) and basic server logs (such as time of request and errors) to keep the service working and secure. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. How we use your information
- To create and run your account and keep you signed in.
- To sell you tickets, take payment, send your tickets and receipts, and let organisers check you in at the event.
- To show your posts, comments, RSVPs and leaderboard scores to other Raas Hub users.
- To unlock features (for example, extra quiz modes when your profile is complete).
- To provide support, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep Raas Hub safe and secure.
- To send you news and offers only if you opt in. You can turn this off any time in Edit Profile, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting record keeping.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Other users: your name, profile photo, posts, comments, RSVPs and scores are visible to other signed-in users.
- The public, on our website: community posts (text, photos, audio and any location you added) are shown on the Raas Hub website with only your first name and the initial of your last name, plus your profile photo. The number of people "Going" to an event is shown, but not who. If you don't want a post to be public, delete it in the app.
- Event organisers (Raas Hub admins): the name, email and phone number on your booking, so they can manage tickets and check you in.
- Service providers who run parts of Raas Hub for us, under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
- Stripe: card payments and saved cards.
- Google: "Sign in with Google" and sending sign-in code emails.
- Apple and Google app stores: app distribution.
- Event partners or sponsors: only if you have given us your explicit consent for that purpose. We do not do this by default.
- Legal reasons: where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people or property.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where their servers are located. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
4. How long we keep it
- Account, profile and community content: until you delete it or delete your account.
- Payment and booking records: up to 7 years after the transaction, where tax and accounting laws require it. Stripe also keeps payment records under its own legal obligations.
- Server logs: kept for a short time for security, then deleted.
5. Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to the database is restricted by account and role, so people can only see what they're allowed to. Card details are handled only by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as the law requires.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update most of your details in the app (Profile, then Edit Profile). For anything else, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
- Marketing: opt in or out any time in Edit Profile.
- Delete your account: in the app (Profile, then Privacy & Security, then Delete account), or on our website without the app.
- Permissions: you can turn off camera, microphone or photo access in your phone's settings at any time.
7. Children
Raas Hub is intended for people aged 13 and over. People under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to use Raas Hub and to buy tickets. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, email us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the changes are significant.
